Chapter 15.
From idontknownuthin
One of the differences between popular typology and the shadows, is that in typology, it is presumed that the type shared moral characteristics with the ante-type. This is not the case in shadows. Shadows are hidden in double meanings and riddles.
In this drawing we see that Can and Abel together represent the dual-natured Christ. When Cain kills Abel, it is a shadow of Jesus' decision to die.
We have a riddle: In what way did Jesus offer an ordinary sacrifice?
Since we all are supposed to offer our perfect obedience, it is Jesus' perfect obedience which is 'ordinary'. It was insufficient to save us from sin. So God tells Cain "If you do right, won't you be lifted up?". You can hear the same conversation in JOb, when Job as Christ says "I am innocent" and God responds with "You must die, you are the Son of Man".
